Therapeutic Massage- Relaxation, stress relief, and clearing your mind are the foundation of healing, and the basis of the best massage. At Aggies Massage and Cupping in Las Cruces, it is my goal to always provide an incredible massage that is rooted in relaxation.

A primary goal of any massage is relaxation. The Massage Therapy style that best induces relaxation is Swedish Massage. Swedish is a series of techniques that can be done with light, medium, or firm pressure. Long, slow effleurage strokes are the most blissful! Swedish may also include petrissage (kneading), friction, and percussion.

Another deeply relaxing Massage style is Lomi Lomi, which involves long, rhythmic, effleurage strokes across the body. Lomi Lomi may flow from the back to the hips to the legs. It may feel like the therapist's hands and forearms are "dancing" across the body, slowly and intentionally. Clients often describe the Lomi Lomi as the most relaxing part of their massage: some clients have reported feeling transcended by the massage.
Deep Tissue may be used in a Therapeutic Massage to target localized tissues. Deep Tissue involves firm compression, squeezing, rolling, holding, and kneading tight and stuck areas. Deep Tissue can target those dreaded "knots", restoring tissue health and improving mobility.

Thai Massage is an ancient healing art from Thailand. Thai Massage is a form of Ayurvedic medicine, revered in Thailand as the powerful medicine of the Buddha.
During a Thai Massage, the therapist applies stretches (yoga asanas) to the recipient. Sequences of stretches are applied to the whole body, ensuring that the whole body is treated. This is an effective way to thoroughly address tight spots and assist the body's alignment.
Thai Massage has many benefits, including:
-
Loosen stiff joints
-
Muscle alignment
-
Improve sleep
-
Relieve pain
-
Enhance movement
-
Restore chi
-
Rest and Relaxation
Compression is also used, similar to "regular" massage, for relaxation and tissue restoration. Strategic pressure points along meridians and marma points are used to encourage the flow of chi throughout the body.
Percussion may be used to aid tissue restoration, sound therapy, and relaxation.
Rocking and gentle shaking may be used in some areas to encourage spinal decompression, increase circulation, and nervous system release.
In her professional experience, Nina has found Thai Massage to be one of the rare, truly holistic bodywork therapies.
In Asia, it is common for people to receive a 2- or 3-hour Thai Massage as part of their self-care regimen. Nina offers a 2-hour Thai Massage for clients, or it can be blended into a 90-minute A to Zia Massage.
Blending Thai Massage into a Therapeutic Massage is Nina's specialty!
In her signature treatment, the 90-minute A to Zia Massage, Nina blends Eastern and Western massages for a holistic, therapeutic, and deeply relaxing treatment.

Cupping Therapy- Cupping is another ancient healing practice from Asia that has made its way into mainstream bodywork practices. Cups are applied to the skin with a vacuum seal to decompress the tissues, thereby boosting circulation and lymph flow. Cupping may be stationary, wherein cups are applied and left to brew for 5-10 minutes, or dynamic/massage style, in which cups are applied and then moved around.
Cupping can be focused, such as Detox Cupping, Facial Cupping, Sports Performance, or Immune-Boosting. To learn more, read the blog post about Cupping styles.
Cupping can be combined with massage in a 90-minute A to Zia Massage, or it can be booked as a stand-alone (a la carte) treatment.

At Aggies Massage and Cupping in Las Cruces, Nina's signature treatment offered is called an A to Zia Massage. Any combination of therapies, including Cupping, may be blended together to create a customized treatment exclusively for your body's needs at the time of your session.
